    Latest version duplicates everything

    in General Discussion

The latest version seems to open, then duplicate every single item in the database. I've tested this on several devices and even tried to restore my last database backup and it almost instantly duplicates everything. Pretty much makes a lot of data entry useless right now. Help!

Hello Mr. Oren, Since you have a database backup, try completely deleting the app and reinstalling. Wait a few minutes for the data to reload. You should be back to the original data. Please let me know if this helped. If not, we can try another option. -Noe

Nope, that still didn't work. I tried it on both my iPad and iPhone and same result.

If you are absolutely sure that the backup you have is good, first “Delete Data”, in Settings. Middle Tab at the top of screen. After the data has been deleted, completely close the app. Now, reload your data and no duplicates should appear. If, after several minutes of use, the data does not show on other devices, click “Upload Data” in Settings. After a few minutes of use, all data should now be restored to all devices. Let me know if you have issues. -Noe

Last evening, I went into the app, deleted the data completely. Removed the app from my iPhone, then reinstalled it. After reinstalling the app and opening the database backup, this is what happens after a few seconds. This time, it actually tripled every item in the database -- see the attached screenshot.

Hello Mr. Oren, It seems like the data from the Cloud is still there. When you installed the app, did any data automatically sync? If data is present in iCloud, it will automatically push to devices. There was some type of issue on Apple’s end that cause some user’s data to duplicate. It didn’t happen to all users, just a handful. Can you check to see if data exists on your Cloud account? To do this, please delete all data through Settings again. Wait a minute or so and then completely delete the app. After deleting, please re-install ReLOADeD and wait for a few minutes to see if any data reappears. I would open and close the app a few times as well. To completely close the app, swipe up from the bottom of the screen, or double-click the home button. Please get back to me after the install to see if any data exists. -Noe

I'm not using the cloud. When I first started using the app, I had that turned on and had an issue with it and ended up losing data.

When you deleted all data and reinstalled the app, did any data show up?

No, there was no data in the app until I restore the database. Then I close the app, and reopen it and takes a few seconds and then everything is either doubled or tripled.

Ok. It really seems like there is data still lingering in the Cloud. Please turn “iCloud Sync” on in Settings. Completely close the app and then restart it. Go back to Settings and “Delete All Data”. Please scroll through the various tabs to ensure all data has been deleted. After all data has been deleted, go ahead and import your database. At this point, you should only have single entries for data. There is no need to Upload Data if you do not plan on using multiple devices. After closing a restarting the app, you should now show original data. You can go back to Settings and turn iCloud Sync off, if you like. Please let me know if this resolved your issue. -Noe

I got into my iCloud drive and removed everything in it, removed/reinstalled the app and restored the database, and that seems to have fixed this issue. Strange though that it was doing something with iCloud, even though I had that option disabled. Thanks for the help.
